remove cabin

(GREECE)

Hello from Greece,

I own a 21ft custom build boat, it's marine plywood on frames build.

The ply is 4'' thick.

Can I remove the cabin (superstructure) to make it open?

Would be this a strength problem?

The inside of the cabin will be as is (berth, galley) only I want to cut the top sides and the roof, the deck will be the same.

Thank you!

best regards
MANOS

Cabin Trunk

Hi Manos,

Yea, you should be able to take it off.

Normally the opening in the deck where the cabin trunk sits is reinforced with carlines beams and bulkheads.

The cabin trunk wouldn’t normally add any strength to the boat.
