Oase 20'

by Luca
(Amsterdam, The Netherlan)

Dutch classic plywood sailboat, built in Nijmegen by the "Salamander" shipyard in 1954, designed by H. Malcorps.

I have just repainted the hull, we'll spend this summer to know each other and to plan the restoration works.

I bought her
by: Anonymous

I bought Luca s boat ... it needs some firm maintenance. Since the complete deck needs to be renewed I decided to change the cabin. It took me time to find the design that honours the style of the boat but I found it and soon I will start with this project.

Sea Baby
by: Ben

What a lovely little ship.

Her designer took part with it in a design-contest issued by Koninklijk Nederlands Watersport Verbond (KNWV), that asked for a small but reasonable seaworthy sailingyacht.

There still should be drawings of her in The Hague.

Seababy did'nt win.

It was Van der Stadt that won with his Juno-yacht.

But the design was presented in The Waterkampioen Magazine that year 1954.

One of the critics of the jury was the fineness of the lines of Seababy in the run of the hull, due to efforts of the designer to 'hide' the boxiness of the chine near de transom.

But in my opinion the boat will do quiet well.
Please love her!
