home built small 8 foot hydroplane

by Gordon Hornbeck
(Swan River, MB, CA)

I am looking for plans for a hydroplane boat I built in the sixties.

It was only 8 feet long and I clocked it at 33 mph with a 9.8 hp Mercury outboard.

It was a 3/8 plywd bottom and 1/4 plywd deck and sponsons.

Virtually no internal frame except to mount the wheel.

About 1950's Popular Mechanics book.

I have the plans send an email.

I might be able to get some good scans.

I cut profiles from paperboard.

I could send them, since I'm not using them.

Could you post your email, and I could email you directly?

Try Clark Craft or Glen-L Marine.

Both on the web.

It's the minimost and the minimax, both are very simple to build. I built one in sixth grade.

Have you tried Svensons free boat plans?

Or checked out Ken;s "Saucy Shingle".
