1965 31' Wooden Trojan

by S. Black
(Brandenburg, Ky.)

My husband and I have aquired his grandfather's 1965 31' wooden Trojan cruiser.

She is currently named the "Ellen B." Hubby's grandfather had the boat for over 30 years.

We are having a hard time determining if it is a 'Sea Breeze' or a 'Voyager' in absolute certainty and are having even a harder time finding photos of an original interior ie. seat coverings and curtains.

We would ideally like to restore her to as close as original as possible.

We have searched all over the internet but have not been able to find any good leads.

If anyone has any suggestions or links that could be of assistance we would greatly appreciate them!

I need to know more about your boat.
by: Gary

Where did your grandfather buy this boat?

My family owned this exact boat from 1970 to 1975 on the Chesapeake bay in Maryland.

We were the second owners.

The smooth side plywood hull was very rare, most were wooden slate sided.

Even the swim platform that we installed looks firmiliar.

We totally renovated this boat for three years.

Was the interior cushions of the boat an orange plaid with plain orange curtains when your grandfather purchased it?

Was an a/c unit under the captains controls?

Let me know, if it is the same boat I can tell you all about the original boat.

Ppapers Arrived.....
by: S. Black

We received the paperwork on our 1965 Trojan Sea Breeze 3100.

Hubby has all the info he needs for now anyhow.

There were a few pictures of the original interior options but they were tiny pictures.

I tried to look at it with a magnifying glass but it's still not much help.

It looks almost like a tweed that they used for the cushion covers.

I am pretty much back to square one on that front.

If anyone has any info or knows where I can go to look it up please let me know.

Thanks,

S. Black

We have verified it, she is a Sea Breeze....
by: S. Black

Thanks Chipper for trying to help!

We have been in contact with someone who has stated that her codes identify her as a Sea Breeze.

He is going to be mailing us some more info which should help us figure out at least some of the color combos and etc.

Hubby is anxious to see wiring diagrams and such and I am hoping to see interior stuff so we can try and get her looking like she did when she was new.

If interior photos show the colors and or patterns for seating and curtains as I am hoping, I will be scouring material places to locate matches as close as I can get.
