How do I join plywood for a small yacht cabin top?

Our lengths are about 2200mm and I need another 200mm.

Do I rout a section down half the thickness (on both pieces) and glue to join?

Hi Stuart,

Yea you could certainly do it that way.

The usual way is to use a scarf joint but I would think that your way will be simpler and just as effective.

You could position the joint so that there is a beam underneath but maybe that is being over cautious.
