In the process of making some "long Reach Clamps" {Wooden Boat No.240} I noticed a characteristic that they had.

That inspired me to put together a new type of clamp that, among other things, could be used in Clinker boat construction.

I call it a "Hammer Clamp".

Or, if you will, a "Slam it together Clamp".

They are simple and therefore inexpensive.

I think I could make them for about Ten Dollars apiece in 100 lot quantities.{Vs 60 Dollars for the Wooden Boat Clamp}

I have reason to believe no one ever built anything like it before.

See the picture below and note that the moveable jaw is longer than the fixed one for hammering it open.

I would be willing to loan them to someone doing Clinker construction to see how useful they would be

I am perfectly aware that the majority of Wooden Boat aficionados are sensible folk.
However, I need to point out that I am an amateur wooden boat enthusiast simply writing in order to try to help other amateur wooden boat enthusiasts.
And while I take every care to ensure that the information in DIY Wood Boat.com is correct, anyone acting on the information on this website does so at their own risk.
