Beetle Cat Needing Restoration (FOR SALE OR BEST OFFER)
by: Anonymous

Hi There I have a Beetle Cat I am trying to get rid of.

I have had it for 2 years and haven't found time to put in the work to get it restored.

I would say that it needs about a half way restoration.

Supports in the boat are in pretty good shape.

It will need a refinishing of the bow and the top surface.

I want it to go to a good home because it will just sit here and I don't want to see it go to waste.

The Beetle Cat comes with its own trailer that is in great shape.

If you are interested in it or have questions about it please let me know.

I will send photos VIA cell phone if you text me.

IF you are also interested in taking a trip to take a look I live about 30 min from Concord NH west.
(603)-630-0077
Thanks to all.

Unwanted Dinghy
by: Anonymous

This is probably the best solution for the disposal of dilapidated 'plastic' boats.

One of the much overlooked advantages of building boats from wood is that when they are unfortunately, abandoned, they are at least bio-disposable.

The 'plastic' ones when they become very tatty, which they do, remain for ever as unsightly litter.

So I suggest that you do the environment a favor and check out the landfill sites around the coast.

Searching for a Free Fixer-Upper

by Michael
(Columbia, SC)

My friend and I are looking for a powerboat to fix up.

We're hoping to find one between 20 and 35 feet.. it really doesn't matter how big it is, as long as it has at least stateroom or two, a galley, and a head.

We don't have much cash and are hoping for a free boat, but are willing to travel to get it.

We're in South Carolina and are willing to travel about 15 hours north or in any direction except through the mountains.. through mountains, we can only go about 7 hours.

We pretty much have to find one this week because the March 8th - 13th is the only time we can take off enough time to come get it.

Thanks a bunch!

Mast available
by: Anonymous

Hi!
It is with great regret that we are being forced to dismantle our 105' wooden topsail schooner that was built in lowestoft England in 1885.

The main mast is original and the aft mast is from late 1960's

We have complete rigging.

Know anyone who might be interested?

Check is out at www.thecabopirateship.com

Anything or any part is available.

Parrels
by:

The batten parrels are short lengths of line or strap which help to hold the sail close to the mast.

BULL
by: CHARLES GATCHELL

THE CHINESE USE MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO ATTACH THE SAIL TO THE MAST. ROPE, WIRE, WOOD SLATS, BUT HOOPS WERE NOT COMMON.

THIS NOT A DEBATE, DID YOU SAY YOU HAVE A MAST?

Round
by: Paul

Round, like a gaff the junk rig sail uses loops round the mast.

If you use oval then sail shape will be affected at differing points of sail.

(Perth, WA)

I am looking for an old Clinker Dinghy to restore....small diesel motor, maybe needs restoration as well....13 to 14 feet....to tonker around the estuary.

My question is I don't know if there is a place to go for this or whether it is just good luck, finding one on the side of the road.

Wooden hulled boat needed, but don't shoot me.

by Darr Palmer
(Tampa, FL)

SmallYachts is searching for a wood hulled sailboat between 18 to 24 feet in length.

Plywood hulls are not desired.

We are looking for a candidate hull to be sheathed in Fer-A-Lite for demonstration purposes.

The worse the shape the hull is in the better.

It only needs to be able to survive transport to our facility (have trailer) and be able to hold her shape with minimal blocking.

Need to locate a candidate near Tampa, FL.
