s/v Reunion (building a Tideway 14)

by Dave Amundson
(Galveston Bay, Texas)

The s/v Reunion is being built to the hard chine Tideway 14 design by Paul Fisher.

However she is unique as she only has one birth below and will be configured for a single solo sailor.

She will be engineless and will carry a set of deck sweepers to aid in getting her home in a calm or to maneuver through a quiet anchorage.

Below she will have the addition of a solid fuel wood burning stove, a folding chart table and a watercloset of the bucket type.

Now almost 18 months into the project she is starting to come to life.

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know about the new DIY Wood Boat Club.

This won’t affect this great page of yours.

However, it is hoped that the new “Club” will give you much more control over what is posted and how it is presented.

Make it easier to post Photos and Videos, ask and answer questions in the Forum.

And above all create a social network for Wooden Boat Enthusiasts.

You can control your own privacy settings and it's free so why not sign up now, give it a (no obligation) try.

Tideway 14

Hi Dave,

Thanks for sharing you project with us, it is so encouraging for others to see what can be done.

And if the work you have done so far is any indication ‘Reunion’ is clearly going to be a lovely boat.

As a single hander myself I like your fitting out ideas.

Best wishes with the rest of her build and for the other reunion the ‘Space Park Sailors’ one.

Mike
