I think I would like a balanced lug on this J. Atkins dory that I intend to build.
Her lines are similar to the wonderful Caledonia that you featured.
I am going to have a small diesel amidships and will use this boat for coastal & bay fishing in N.C. as well as sailing.
I don't want a high-performance rig, but rather a safe and sturdy rig that will be fun and inexpensive.
I need to do some head-scratching on where to step the mast, what size sail, etc.
Probably will leave the foredeck open to allow for experimentation and better fishing mobility.
